Artistic Vision:

I am pursuing the theme – unity of our existence in art and writing. I use my interest in biology, palaeontology, psychology and many other sciences, while working on the themes of natural and anthropogenic space conjunction and beings (plants, animals, objects) which are their intrinsic parts.

I believe  that we are all deeply intertwined with our space and others within it, and as artists we can influence it in many ways, which can have both positive and negative consequences we can not yet perceive as clearly. I think being an artist is a style of life – a great responsibility to perfect one’s self and help others reconnect with their inner world, which also positively affects their perception of the world around them.

I’m Nino Pitskhelauri, a 21-year-old fourth-year Bachelor’s student in Book Design and Illustration at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. I mainly work in graphics and printmaking, especially etching, but I also enjoy painting. My work is inspired by visual storytelling and surreal atmospheres, often reflecting on inner states, identity, and emotional fragmentation.  I’ve always felt a connection between my art and the kind of worlds David Lynch creates. I love printed media for its physicality and slow, immersive process, and I approach the book as a space where images can unfold their own rhythm. In 2024, I took part in the Erasmus+ mobility program at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (AFAD), where workshops and lectures on contemporary painting and typography helped shape the way I approach illustration and print.
